Your First Visit to Our Brixton Practice
To look beyond your symptoms and find the cause of your problem, your first visit will involve three steps:
- A detailed case study during which your chiropractor will ask you about your complaint and medical history.
- A comprehensive orthopaedic and neurological examination.
- You may also be referred for x-rays so that the alignment and condition of your spine can be assessed in greater detail.
Your chiropractor will carefully analyse all the information obtained and, on your next visit (your "Report Visit"), he'll take time to explain your results and discuss the best treatment options for you.
If you qualify for chiropractic care we will then be ready to get started. Chiropractic care involves three types of care:
- Relief care,
- Reconstructive Care, and
- Maintenance Care.
Which of these undertaken will depend on your individual health objectives.
The care we provide can be modified to suit everyone including newborn babies, the elderly, pregnant women and sports enthusiasts and you don't have to be ill to benefit from chiropractic. Many people have regular chiropractic care to promote wellbeing and improve their performance in sport and at work.
If your chiropractor identifies an underlying condition for which another type of treatment is appropriate, you will be referred to your G.P. or another specialist.
We don't guess when it comes to your spine!
